Cara Bertram Technical Support Engineer

Name: Cara Bertram

Organisation attended: Siemens Congleton

Job title: Technical Support Engineer

Location: Congleton (Cheshire)

Why did you apply?

My future career plan was to do anything that would allow me to build things, be creative and solve problems. I had numerous ideas which included stage design and building mobiles phones, all of which involve engineering.

I applied for the work experience during my Electronic and Engineering degree, with help from my university.

What did you gain from the experience?

It confirmed my interest and understanding of what a career in engineering involved. There are so many different options to an engineering career buy my interest was towards the hands on and deign aspects.

In what ways has the experience had an impact on your career path/ambitions?

I still work with Siemens in technical support to customers who have problems setting up their equipment.  My goal for the age of 30 is to manage a team of engineers who design, install and test full systems.
